Sales Training for Business Owners – Are you an ‘infomercial’?

By definition, business owners/entrepreneurs are the most enthusiastic about their products and services which often means they can talk about how great their offering is ‘till the cows come home’. Sound familiar?

In reality, the best sales people are ones who are able to refrain from doing most of the talking themselves, and are able to get the prospect to do most of the talking instead by sharing their pains. As the old adage goes: We have two ears and one mouth for a reason; we must use them in that proportion. The prospect is not as interested in your products/services – believe me, they are in you. YOU are what differentiates your offerings in comparison to your competitors.

The question is, how do you get the prospect to trust you, and talk to you? What are the questions to be asked in order to get the prospect to share their challenges or pains? How do you build credibility and why should they buy from you, when they can buy from someone else?
